PALL MALL Famous Cigarettes Ad uses the motto and CAN BE SEEN IN A 1911 for Pall Mall cigarettes uses the phrase Dieu Et Mon Droit. The motto refers to the divine right of the Monarch to govern. A moto believed to have started with King Richard the Lionheart as a battle cry and official motto of battle, then adopted as the royal motto of England by King Henry V in the 15th century, later became the British Monarch in England.
The motto appears on a scroll beneath the shield of the coat of arms of the United Kingdom. The motto is French for literally "God and my right". Other believe it translates to "God and my right shall me defend."" God and my right hand" all referring to a King being a god on earth. Beautiful Engraving on the inside reads Pall Mall Rounds on the Interior Also inside is and English royal Crest w Top Crown in Oval Shape and Double Line Frame on Each Side with Words Inside. Under the Crest is a Flowing Ribbon with Wording on the interior. The Lion is standing above the word Dieu et and the Unicorn Standing above the word Droit. An English crest has a Regal Embossed Lion and Unicorn on each side.
